8/17/09: Here's a up date on Sadie (AKA Frisky). She been good on house training; she lets us know when she needs to go out. She loves playing with Dianne, our daughters, and granddaughter and she likes sitting out on the porch waching people and other dogs walk by - without a bark from her! She also likes playing with Simon our cat! When it's bed time, she gets into her little bed and when Dianne gets into bed, she gets out of her bed to grab Dianne's sock to take back to her bed to go to sleep!

7/16/09: Blizzard has now been on our boat 4 times! We try to make it special for him on boating day. This past weekend (July 4th) we had really perfect weather. OMG - did he make a hit at the gas dock. All the kids came over to see him and pet him. He was SO good. Totally loving all the attention. We are so thankful that we found him and you let us take him home. Blizzard is definitely living a better life here in CT and we are so happy to be a part of it.

7/16/09: I've some exciting news to share about Honey and our family. Next Friday, we will be closing on a house in Penacook, NH! The apartment living will come to an end and Honey will have a large, fenced in backyard to play around in. Of course, we are now thinking about adopting another dog in the coming months so that Honey will have a daytime companion!

7/16/09: (An update on Taco) She is doing great. She is such a love bug but so insecure. Won't trade her for anything. We have such a great bunch of girls.

6/5/09: Lola say 'Hi' and seems thoroughly settled in. She's calm now around the alpacas. She's met four doggy friends. My two-year old grandson loves her and so does everyone else. She'll meet our vet next week. She's comfortable riding in the truck and waiting while I do errands, even acts like the truck is a safe place. Has her favorite spots around the house and yard, doesn't wander away, comes when called and on and on.
Never mind that she's so loving and adorable! We feel very lucky that she's here and part of our family! Hope all's well with you. It certainly is well here with Lola!

5/29/09: Here is an updated picture of Ruffy (Scruffy). He has turned into an awesome little guy. His health is good. Thankyou so much.

5/14/09: I just wanted to give you an update on Juno? (Snoopy)...I still can't decide on a name hehe. This dog is AWESOME. I've been crating him while I'm at work - today was his second day....other than a little barking/whimpering for a few minutes...he was completely quiet today.
There is an eye doctor across the street that can't get over how good this puppy is! He never leaves my side, and I barely need a leash on him because he just will not stray. I think I've been matched up with the absolutely best dog possible. I'm more than happy with this friend I've made...I just wanted to let you know how well things were going on this end. Thanks again!
5/14/09: We could not be happier with Rubia (Munchkin/Topaz). She has settled in perfectly. She's doing great with Milton and the cats, and is having so much fun with us. We've taken trips to the beach, gone hiking, and yesterday finally felt ready to try the dog park.
She is always happy, and everyone that meets her loves her. She can already sit, stay, lie down, get in bed, and move to the back of the car on command. Again, thank you so much for helping us get her over here, she's the best!
5/29/09: We can't tell you how much we adore this little dog! She is quite spoiled.

5/1/09: I just wanted to thank you so much for how great you were in my adopting Negrito. I am so happy!
He is such a humorous little guy! He and Penny play great together, they jump on the bed and Penny lays on her back while he bites her. It's pretty funny. At night he sleeps on the bed, lucky for me, So I would say hes doing pretty well, we are certainly happy to have him here!

5/1/09: Riley is doing great! We've had him for almost 4 weeks now and he's already learned to sit, give paw and speak on command. He is a fast learner! We are now working on laying down.
We do a walk every night after supper and he really looks forward to them! He is completely house trained! No accidents. We no longer feel the need to crate him. He has filled our lives with so much love and joy! He definitely fits right in with our family! He loves car rides and goes everywhere with us! We look forward to rescuing another puppy who needs a good home soon. Riley needs a buddy!
5/1/09: We are all doing great! Chico has already become part of the family & seems to be getting used to our famiy rhythms. You were right about him being a happy, easy going dog & he & Ginger are now friends after a just a few grumbly days. The kids are crazy about him & my husband loves him! He is adorable & we are happy to have him. Thank you for everything!

5/1/09: It has been just over a week, and while Maya (previously Curly) is still adjusting to the household and schedule, she is doing great. We love her so much! I have attached some pictures of her and her new friend Daisy. If all goes well Maya will start attending daycare on Mondays with Daisy. She is already signed up for training classes and everything is fine.

4/16/09: Though we don't have a picture yet, Kate sent the following (excerpted) about their new family member:
Juliet is a spunky puppy with a mellow side as well. She loves her big sister Dixie (our other dog) and Dixie adores her. We are also looking into Spring and Summer puppy courses at "Under One Woof" in Antrim.
She sleeps with us every night in bed and is quite the snuggler. Our boys can't get enough of her. Our 8 year old, Cole, has really stepped up on the responsibility part and our 15 year old, Zak calls her his "pretty princess. We love her!!!!!! We will send a family photo as soon as we can. Thanks a bunch.
4/16/09: The Phillips family sent us an update on Cane, now Buddy:
Just wanted to send you a few pictures of my little Buddy. It has been a little over 2 years now sense we adopted him. I can’t even imagine what life was like before we got our Buddy… Thanks to everyone that helped us…. God Bless!
4/16/09: The Hazlett family sent us the following. Three years and going strong!:
Daisy came into our lives about 3 years ago and totally took over. She is a very loving dog; in fact, my husband has never been a dog lover but now can't keep his hands off of her. She greets him at the door every night with her
upper lip up smiling. We are so grateful for all of the work you do. P.S. She tolerates our cats!

4/16/09: The Bazin family adopted Roxy and sent us the following update on how she's become quite the farm girl!:
Just thought we would give you all an update on Roxy; we adopted her a year ago this past December. She has become such a lovely young lady; we are so blessed to have her.
We live on a dairy farm and she has become quite the farm dog, she has grown to be great off leash and sooooo wonderful with our two young daughters. She even lets them put tiaras on her head and lead her around apparently she was a princess and never knew it!!!! Just wanted to thank you all for bringing her into our lives.
3/17/09: Ann and her family from Saco, Maine recently sent us the following on Maggie. Doesn't she look fabulous in her stylish winter coat?!:
Just wanted to send along a picture of my pal Maggie (aka The Best Pup In The World) in her winter garb! We had some particularly cold weather this past winter. Maggie's got a lighter weight coat than previous Goldens and Labs I've had so this argyle number seemed to suit her just fine!
Maggie continues to be pretty much the best dog ever and to make friends everywhere she goes. Lately I've been teaching her Sit Pretty. She's so proud of herself she does it at every opportunity, practically holding her breath, not moving a muscle, soaking up all the praise, so happy to be "good".
I tell everyone about Wynn Dog Rescue - even if I didn't bring it up people always ask "where did you get her?" because she's such a peach - so I tell 'em all about you! Thanks again for everything!
3/11/09: Stacey and her family recently adopted Sid and sent us the most wonderful, long letter. Some excerpts:
Sid is doing wonderfully! He was so shy with us the first few days, but he's like a different doggie now! I'm definitely his favorite; he follows me everywhere!
It's amazing how different he's become in a week. He so much more comfortable with us. He walks around this house like he owns the place! If the girls are watching TV, he'll hop right up on the couch and sit with them, which of course, they love!
I was talking with the girls the other day about how Sid has been better and better every day. He used to shy away from all of us, but now he runs right to the girls when they get home from school, and he wags so hard that his whole body wiggles! My 5 year old says that he's not shy anymore because "he's falling in love with us!" And I know exactly what she means! I can see the cautious trust in his eyes when I'm snuggling him, and the recognition in his face when one of us walks in the room! He's a very sweet boy, and I'm so glad we found him! Thank you for rescuing him, and allowing him to be part of our family!

2/27/09: Katie and David Wilson recently wrote to us about their beloved Mercy (on the right):
It has been far too long since we have been able to update you on our love Mercy. It has been just about one year since she adopted us and we have to say that there cannot be a better rescue dog ever to walk to earth. She continues to amaze us with her love and affection every day. People who meet her cannot believe that she is a rescue. We are working on getting her into a therapy dog program at a local hospital. Ive attached some pictures of her and our other baby Sampson and my husband and also Mercy with a kitten we rescued from the middle of the road, she actually treated the kitten like he was her baby, shes really an amazing dog. Thank you so much for all you do!

2/27/09: Christie just adoped Goldie, now Peanut, and sent us the following You can see how hard she's trying!:
We love Goldie; she has fit right in. The first day, she was nervous and very tired. Plus Roxie and Tucker didn't want to give her a break. She had the cutest growl. She looked like she was smiling, but it got the cat to leave her alone! We did change her name to Peanut. It fits her! She is our little peanut. We love her and she is definitely starting to love us. Thank you so much for saving her and bringing her to our family.

2/27/09: It's been just a week since Sasha was adopted! We don't have a picture yet by Karla gave us a update:
Sasha is doing well. My son and husband love her and she sleeps with my son every night since he has been home. She is getting more comfortable and a few teenage things are coming out; only to be expected! She has been sneaking down in the middle of the night and chewing up things, I will catch her trying to be oh so quiet! It's kinda cute how she goes about doing it. She has been very good about going out and doing her business and then playing with the kids. She loves to run after a ball or a snow ball for that matter. She loves the snow!
We go for walks and she is perfect on the leash. She stays right beside the stroller. I love cuddling with her on the couch at night time. She just keeps me so warm.
Thanks so much for everything. Things couldn't have turned out better. We are all so happy and I think Sasha is very happy as well.
2/6/09: The Crawford's provided the following update on Taco (formerly Lizzie, formerly Yaya - but this is her last name change because she has finally found her forever home!). She is the cutie on the right:
Here are a few pics of the 3 sister's, as I call them. Taco is settling in very nicely. You would be very proud of her, she is still hiding when people come over but now is she coming out after about 5 minutes and sitting next to me. She will not go near our guest/s but at least she is not hiding the whole time. It's a start. She loves to follow Dylan around and anytime he calls her she comes running, you have no idea how good that is for Dylan. So now the Crawford's each have their own dog, Nakita's mine, Snowy is Barry's and Taco is Dylan's. It's a crazy fun loving house which at times is very loud.
2/6/09: We also heard from Pique's family, Alina. She sent an adorable picture of 2 very tired 'reindeers'! (Pique is on the left)
I just wanted to give you an update on Pique. He has settled in so nicely. He loves the winter weather and the snow. We go snow shoeing with both dogs and he loves to run in it. He's already an experienced traveler, NYC, Cape Cod and Seabrook. He has taken to playing with stuffed toys and holds them gently in his mouth squeaking it when he's content. He's very playful and bubbly. Everyone he's met has taken to him. Thanks so much!
2/6/09: Ann Marie, Dan and Mary Wright adopted a Fiona a year ago January 19! They sent us the following recently:
We just want you to know that she is the love of our lives and is doing very well. She's been Pet of The Month at a local doggie boutique and has undergone knee replacement surgery - the second knee will be done in three weeks. As it turned out, something very bad happened to her hind legs when she was a puppy but she's a trooper - and we have bonded with her even more with her surgery, recovery and physical therapy - she's been sleeping in my arms since the day we brought her home - Thank you for giving Fiona, and us, a second chance!
2/6/09: Elaine and Bruce gave us another great update on Blizzard. He's living the life of Riley, it seems - and rightly so!
Just wanted to drop you a line about Blizzard. He is the worlds best dog! He is totally housebroken. Only took a week. He is smart and oh so very affectionate. Playful too. We have had him for a month and he comes out of himself every day. He has figured out the house and getting used to different configurations in the car. Loves walking the trails in the woods, and enjoys scaring the deer. He has learned to sit and lay. He also has learned not to beg when we eat. He has been great with our family and guests, including children. He has the run of the house and loves the kitchen. Does not mind cold at all. Thank you for a great dog.
